Future 360 Draft Rules & Player Allocation

The official player allocation system of the Future 360 League™ — designed to build balanced franchises through a transparent lottery and snake draft.

Purpose

The Future 360 Draft is the league’s official player allocation system. Its purpose is to create competitive balance across all franchises while giving every player an equal opportunity to compete and develop.

Unlike traditional recreational leagues, players are assigned through a structured draft following the Future 360 Combine.

The Future 360 Draft is built on four principles:

Draft Eligibility

A player becomes draft eligible after:

  1. 01Registration Approved
  2. 02Payment Completed or Payment Plan Approved
  3. 03Required Documents Submitted
  4. 04Combine Completed
  5. 05League Approval Granted

Draft Lottery

Before each draft, the Commissioner conducts a public Draft Lottery to determine the Round 1 selection order.

The lottery is:

Random
Transparent
Conducted before franchise owners
Recorded by the League Office

Snake Draft Format

Future 360 League uses a snake draft to promote competitive balance. The pick order reverses each round.

Draft Room

Only the following individuals are permitted in the official Draft Room:

Commissioner
Basketball Operations
Franchise Owners
Approved Coaches
League Staff
Media (designated areas)

Draft Clock

On the Clock

Minutes per pick
If a selection is not made
  • • The Commissioner may grant a brief extension for technical issues.
  • • If no selection is submitted, the league may make an automatic selection based on the highest-rated available player to keep the draft moving.
6.10

Making a Selection

When on the clock, the franchise representative must submit the selected player’s name to the Commissioner or through the league’s digital draft system.

Once confirmed:

  • The pick becomes official.
  • The player is removed from the available player pool.
  • The franchise roster is updated.

Auto Pick

An automatic selection may occur if:

  • A franchise misses the draft.
  • A technical issue prevents a selection.
  • The pick clock expires without a submitted choice.
6.12

Missed Draft Attendance

If a franchise owner or coach cannot attend Draft Night:

  • Another approved franchise representative may draft.
  • The league may conduct selections on the franchise's behalf if no representative is available.

Draft Trades

To maintain competitive balance and simplify league operations:

Draft Pick Trades

Not permitted during the inaugural season.

Player-for-Player Trades

Prohibited during the season.

6.14

Draft Rights

Once a player is selected:

  • The franchise holds that player's league rights for the current season only.
  • The player may not join another Future 360 franchise during that season without league approval.
6.15

Undrafted Players

If a registered player is not selected during the draft, the League Office may:

  • Place the player on a waiting list.
  • Assign the player to a franchise with an available roster spot.
  • Invite the player to a supplemental draft if one is held.
6.16

Roster Completion

Following the draft, each franchise will have:

Post-Draft Roster Changes

Roster changes after Draft Night are limited to:

  • Season-ending injury
  • Player withdrawal
  • Family relocation
  • Administrative correction
  • Other league-approved circumstances
6.18

Expansion Draft

If Future 360 League adds new franchises in future seasons:

  • The League Office may conduct an Expansion Draft.
  • Expansion Draft rules will be published separately before the season.
6.19

Supplemental Draft

If roster vacancies remain after the primary draft, the League Office may conduct a Supplemental Draft for:

  • Waitlisted players
  • Late registrants
  • Approved replacement players

Draft Night is a signature league event designed to celebrate players and families. The event may include:

Draft Conduct

All participants are expected to:

  • Conduct themselves professionally.
  • Respect league staff and officials.
  • Refrain from negative comments about players or selections.
  • Celebrate every player's opportunity.

Commissioner Authority

The Commissioner has final authority regarding:

  • Draft procedures
  • Draft timing
  • Eligibility
  • Roster corrections
  • Draft disputes
  • Administrative errors
  • Competitive balance
