Purpose

Future 360 League™ is committed to providing a safe, organized, competitive, and development-focused game environment. These rules govern all regular season, playoff, All-Star, and championship games.

Official Rules of Play

Governing Rules

Future 360 League follows NFHS Basketball Rules (National Federation of State High School Associations) unless specifically modified by this handbook.

Clock Management

Running Clock

The clock runs continuously except for:

  • Timeouts
  • Injuries
  • Official reviews
  • Free throws in the final two minutes
  • Dead balls during the final two minutes of the 4th quarter
  • Dead balls during overtime
Final Two Minutes

During the final two minutes of regulation and overtime the clock stops for:

  • Made baskets after a timeout
  • Fouls
  • Violations
  • Out-of-bounds
  • Free throws
  • Timeouts
  • Official whistles

Overtime

If tied at the end of regulation:

  • 2-minute overtime
  • One timeout per overtime
  • Jump ball to begin first overtime
  • Alternating possession thereafter

Pregame Procedures

Minutes Prior
Teams must arrive 30 minutes before scheduled tip-off.

Pregame includes:

Starting Lineups

Starting lineups must be submitted to the official scorer no later than 10 minutes before game time.

Substitutions

Substitutions may occur:

  • During dead balls
  • Before free throws (when permitted)
  • Between quarters
  • During timeouts

Playing Time Philosophy

Future 360 League emphasizes player development. All eligible players are expected to receive meaningful playing opportunities over the course of the season.

Playing time remains the responsibility of the coaching staff, but coaches are expected to:

  • Develop every player
  • Encourage participation
  • Avoid unnecessary benching
  • Prioritize long-term development over short-term winning

Defensive Rules

Allowed
  • • Man-to-Man Defense

  • • Full-Court Press
Pressure Rule

No full-court pressure is permitted when a team leads by 20 or more points.

Pressing may resume once the lead falls below 15 points.

Mercy Rule

When the mercy rule is in effect:

  • Running clock remains in effect.
  • Clock stops only for injuries and official timeouts.
  • No full-court pressure.
  • Coaches are encouraged to rotate lineups and emphasize player development.

Personal Fouls

Disqualification
A player is disqualified after five (5) personal fouls and must leave the game immediately.
8.15

Team Fouls

Bonus begins on the 5th team foul each quarter. Team fouls reset at the beginning of each new quarter.

Technical Fouls

Technical fouls may be assessed for:

Unsportsmanlike Conduct
Excessive Arguing
Taunting
Profanity
Delay of Game
Bench Misconduct
Disrespect Toward Officials
Penalty
  • • Two free throws
  • • Possession of the ball

Repeated technical fouls may result in suspension.

Ejections

Automatic ejection for:

  • Fighting
  • Physical aggression
  • Threatening behavior
  • Abusive language
  • Intentional contact with an official
  • Leaving the bench during an altercation

Future 360 League expects all participants to respect:

Officials

Only league-approved officials may work Future 360 games.

Officials are responsible for:

  • Rule enforcement
  • Game management
  • Player safety
  • Sportsmanship
  • Communication

Bench Conduct

Coaches are responsible for the conduct of:

  • Players
  • Assistant Coaches
  • Team Staff
  • Bench Personnel

Spectator Conduct

Spectators must:

  • Remain in designated seating areas.
  • Refrain from entering the court.
  • Respect officials.
  • Respect opposing players and fans.
  • Avoid abusive language.

Injury Procedures

If a player is injured:

  1. 01Officials stop play when appropriate.
  2. 02Coaches remain with their team.
  3. 03Certified medical personnel or designated staff evaluate the player.
  4. 04Parents or guardians are notified immediately if necessary.
  5. 05Return-to-play follows league medical guidelines.

Game Protests

Only franchise owners or head coaches may file a formal protest.

A protest must:

  • Be submitted in writing within 24 hours of the game's conclusion.
  • Identify the specific rule believed to have been misapplied.

Game Forfeits

A game may be forfeited if a team:

  • Fails to appear.
  • Cannot field the minimum required number of players.
  • Uses an ineligible player.
  • Refuses to continue play.
  • Violates league rules resulting in forfeiture.
